智通财经APP获悉,IBM宣布,将于2029年前在纽约波基普西新建的量子数据中心,打造全球首台大规模容错量子计算机。这家总部位于纽约的科技巨头已运营着全球规模庞大的量子计算机集群,同时发布了新的《量子路线图》,详细阐述了构建实用化容错量子系统的具体规划。
这款名为“IBM Quantum Starling”的未来系统,预计运算能力将达到现有量子计算机的2万倍,能支持用户探索远超当前设备限制的复杂量子态。
IBM董事长兼首席执行官阿尔温德·克里希纳(Arvind Krishna)表示:“IBM正在开拓量子计算的下一个前沿领域。我们在数学、物理和工程领域的专业积累,正为打造大规模容错量子计算机铺平道路——这一技术将解决现实世界的挑战,并为商业领域释放无限可能。”
具备数百至数千个逻辑量子比特的大规模容错量子计算机,可执行数亿至数十亿次运算,有望在药物研发、材料发现、化学研究及优化算法等领域大幅提升时间与成本效率。
IBM称,Starling系统将通过200个逻辑量子比特实现1亿次量子运算,获取解决复杂问题所需的计算能力。这为后续“IBM Quantum Blue Jay”系统奠定基础——后者将凭借2000个逻辑量子比特,支持10亿次量子运算。
