Geopacific Resources (ASX:GPR) said surface auger sampling returned high-grade results at the Wayai Creek SSW and Little MacKenzie prospects within the Woodlark gold project in Papua New Guinea, according to a Tuesday Australian bourse filing.
Multiple zones graded above 1 gram-per-tonne of gold, with several high-grade assays up to 20 g/t grade of gold, as well as a peak assay of 63.6 g/t grade of gold at the northernmost auger line at Little MacKenzie.
The mining firm is conducting trenching to refine drilling targets, scheduled to begin in June, with drilling equipment currently being mobilized to the site. It will also conduct a total of 30,000 meters of reverse circulation and diamond drilling in the area.
