U.K. to Create 'Housing Bank' to Provide Cheaper Financing to Builders, FT Says, Citing Sources

--U.K.'s Treasury Chief Rachel Reeves plans to create a 'housing bank' to provide housebuilders with cheaper financing, the Financial Times reports, citing anonymous sources.

--Homes England, the government's housing agency, would be redesignated as a public financial institution, FT says.

--This would allow Homes England to increase financing to the housing industry, unlock larger homebuilding projects and attract more private investment, FT says.

-- The Treasury declined to comment to FT.
