Bayhealth and Premier Inc. have announced the extension of their supply chain partnership, which has already achieved $8 million in savings in its first year. Facing challenges such as staffing shortages and fragmented data, Bayhealth improved inventory optimization and cost management through Premier's co-management model. The partnership, which began with Bayhealth as a Premier group purchasing organization (GPO) member in 1996, has evolved into a strategic collaboration focused on supply chain performance improvement. With the recent contract renewal, Premier's embedded team has expanded to 23.5 full-time experts, tasked with overseeing end-to-end supply chain functions for Bayhealth, central and southern Delaware's largest healthcare system. This extended partnership, set to run through 2028, aims to continuously optimize costs and enhance supply chain resilience.
