Erie Indemnity Reports Cyber Security Incident

Erie Indemnity has experienced an information security incident.

The insurance company identified unusual network activity on June 7, and activated incident response measures to safeguard its systems, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Wednesday.

Erie's investigation and response remain ongoing, and the full scope, nature and impact on the company are not yet known, it said.

The company continues to take protective measures, and is conducting forensic analysis with the help of third-party cybersecurity experts. It also notified and is working with law enforcement.
