0742 ET - Salvors have reached the burning Morning Midas car carrier off the Alaskan coast carrying 3,000 cars including 70 EVs and 700 hybrids, U.S. Coast Guard officials say. The fire which started last week at an area carrying EVs has spread through the deck with the worst damage at the bow which has turned into a swath of grey. Fire fighting tugs are expected to reach the ship over the next two weeks. The Morning Midas was sailing from Yantai in China To Mexico. The cars were mostly Chinese made and the probe on the cause of the blaze will take months. (costas.paris@wsj.com)
