Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing (TPE:2330) and United Microelectronics (TPE:2303) remained unaffected by a magnitude 6.4 earthquake on Wednesday evening, Focus Taiwan reported the same-day.
The chip makers said the tremor did not meet the threshold for evacuation, and TSMC's fabs across Hsinchu, Taichung, Tainan, and Kaohsiung remained operational, the report said.
UMC also confirmed normal activity at its Hsinchu and Tainan plants, the publication said.
