路透威灵顿6月10日 - 新西兰财政部长威利斯（Nicola Willis）周二表示，她希望新西兰央行货币政策委员会能提高召开会议频率，并对夏季会议间隔时间过长表示担忧。
"关于货币政策委员会开会频率最终是由央行决定，但我的观点是，委员会应该更频繁地开会，"威利斯在一份声明中说。"我认为央行应该恢复到每年召开八次会议的频率。"
新西兰央行在 2016 年将政策会议的次数从八次减少到七次，这使得政策制定者有近三个月的年终空档。
威利斯表示，她尤其担心夏季的12周会议间隔时间太长，反观英国、加拿大、澳洲和美国的央行休息时间更短，会议也更频繁。
去年年底时，一些经济学家便认为，由于新西兰央行准备迎来三个月的会议间隔时间，因此面临更大的积极放松政策压力，以防止经济衰退。
威利斯表示，她已就会议频率征求了财政部的意见。(完)
