United Natural Foods was hit with unauthorized activity on certain information technology systems, which has temporarily impacted its ability to fulfill and distribute orders.
The wholesale grocery distributor said Monday it became aware of the activity on Thursday and activated its incident response plan, as well as containment measures. The measures took certain systems offline, which impacted fulfillment and distribution.
The incident is expected to continue to cause disruptions to business operations, UNF said.
UNF is working with third-party cybersecurity professionals to assess and mitigate the issue, and has notified law enforcement. It has also established workarounds for certain operations to continue servicing customers where possible.
