Viva Energy Group Ltd. has announced the successful launch of Australia's first publicly accessible commercial hydrogen refuelling station at its Energy Hub in Geelong. This milestone was made possible through a $34 million grant from the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) as part of the Advancing Renewables Program, with an additional $1 million contributed by the Victorian Government via the Renewable Hydrogen Commercialisation Pathways Fund. The funding not only supported Viva Energy but also involved collaboration with multiple organizations, including foundation partners such as Toll Group, ComfortDelGro Corporation Australia, Cleanaway, and Barwon Water, which have invested in hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles to explore hydrogen's potential in reducing carbon emissions.
