Shinsho (TYO:8075) and Taguchi Metals agreed to form a joint venture focused on recycling non-ferrous metal scrap, according to a Tokyo bourse filing last Friday.

This partnership aims to address the growing demand for low-carbon aluminum by developing advanced sorting technologies for post-consumer recycled (PCR) scrap, which has historically been challenging to recycle into high-grade wrought alloys.

The collaboration leverages Taguchi Metals' procurement network and sorting expertise with Shinsho's resource circulation knowledge to effectively utilize lower-grade scrap and expand into rare metal recycling.
