President Trump is scheduled to participate in a National Security Council meeting Friday at 11 a.m. at the White House, according to his official schedule. The White House offered no other information about the meeting.
Earlier in the evening, the president attended the annual Congressional Picnic on the South Lawn of the White House and left shortly after 8 p.m. for the West Wing. The president made clear today he was aware of the potential for a strike and told reporters, "it looks like something that could very well happen."
He has not made any public statements since the picnic. Hours before Israel's strike on Iran, the president posted to social media, "we remain committed to a Diplomatic Resolution to the Iran Nuclear Issue." He added, "my entire Administration has been directed to negotiate with Iran."
