1318 ET - Tariff uncertainty began to rear its head in April, near the end of America's Car-Mart's most recent quarter. Due to the timing, CEO Doug Campbell says on a call with analysts that the levies didn't have a material impact on pricing during the auto dealership operator's F4Q. However, that won't be the case in the current quarter. Starting in April and persisting throughout May, America's Car-Mart has been paying approximately $300 more per vehicle, Campbell says. "To the extent that that persists, that piece is manageable," he adds. Still, Campbell notes an expectation that the used-car market will remain dynamic this year. "The tighter supply environment will be a challenge, but it has been for some time," he adds. America's Car-Mart slides 11%. (connor.hart@wsj.com)
