IT之家 6 月 13 日消息，谷歌现已上线 Weather Lab 气象预测网站，并透露该网站引入了一系列谷歌最先进的 AI 气象预测模型，相应技术基于 DeepMind 研究院成果，可预测热带气旋（台风）的生成时间、路径、强度、规模、形状，并且可以模拟 15 天内多达 50 种可能的气象发展场景。
此外，Weather Lab 网站还引入了一项对比机制，允许用户将谷歌 AI 天气模型推理结果与欧洲中期天气预报中心（ECMWF）所采用的基于物理计算的传统模型进行对比，从而更早获取有关气旋的信息。
值得一提的是，Weather Lab 的预测模型已经准确预判了今年两场台风“洪德（Honde）”和“加兰斯（Garance）”的路径，不过谷歌强调，Weather Lab 目前仍属于科研性质的工具，即便有实时预测功能，也不能替代官方发布的气象预警，用户仍应以当地权威气象机构的预报为准。
