Finning International's board named David Primrose as executive vice president and chief financial officer, effective immediately.

Primrose, currently EVP and chief development officer, will retain responsibility for his current business support functions, the company said Thursday.

He succeeds Greg Palaschuk, who is leaving the company to pursue another opportunity in the financial services sector in Toronto, Finning said. Palaschuk will remain with the company in an advisory capacity until July 31.

Primrose previously was president of Finning Canada, managing director for Finning U.K. and Ireland, EVP of mining for Finning Canada, and senior vice president, human resources, for Finning International, the company said.

Finning said it is the world's largest Caterpillar dealer.
