Boeing (BA) and the Royal Australian Air Force or RAAF completed a demonstration of the potential interoperability of the company's MQ-28 Ghost Bat and E-7A Wedgetail aircraft models, according to a Monday statement from Boeing.
The demonstration involved a mission against an airborne target using two in-flight MQ-28 Ghost Bat aircraft and a third digital aircraft that were controlled by a single operator onboard an airborne E-7A Wedgetail, the company said.
Boeing said the software used was jointly developed and implemented by Boeing Defence Australia, Defence Science and Technology Group and the US Air Force Research Laboratories.
According to the company, the trial is part of a series of events under the Capability Demonstration 2025 where RAAF will test collaborative combat aircraft using its crewed assets.
