Ainsworth Game Technology (ASX:AGI) said that all but one investigation by the Austrian Economic and Corruption Prosecutor's Office into over 100 people and their suspected associates, which included the firm's current chief executive Harald Neumann as well as its controlling shareholder Novomatic, were discontinued with with no findings of wrongdoing, according to a Monday Australian bourse filing.
It said that its board regularly monitors the matter through its regulatory compliance committee, which also receives regular updates from legal representatives, acting for both Novomatic
and Neumann.
It added that it became aware of the investigations in August 2019 and communicated with all gaming regulators to ensure that they were aware of the investigations.
Neumann was appointed as its CEO in 2021, after the committee recommended that he was suitable, from a regulatory standpoint, to be considered for the position, following a probity investigation conducted by the compliance division.
The current information available on the last remaining probe indicates that the Austrian office will finalize its examination on the established facts before submitting its proposal to the necessary regulatory authorities for approval to have this last investigation discontinued, per the filing.
