An Apolitical Line in Washington Outside Festival

In Washington, a line of hundreds of people is circling the National Mall waiting to get into the U.S. Army 250th birthday festival, growing significantly by the hour. Despite happening against a fraught political backdrop, the atmosphere here is light and most people viewed it as a bipartisan celebration of the military, although there are a few MAGA hats and at least one QAnon shirt.

As people waited in line, a man on a megaphone shouted about the Trump administration "flouting the rule of law," prompting a few jeers from the queue.
