--BT Group is considering further job cuts supported by advances in artificial intelligence while mulling a potential spinoff of Openreach, Chief Executive Allison Kirkby tells the Financial Times.
-- Kirkby said that the group's plan to cut more than 40,000 jobs and strip out 3 billion pounds ($4.07 billion) of costs by the end of the decade doesn't reflect the full potential of AI.
--Kirkby is also considering a potential spinoff of its U.K. telecom company Openreach, as its value isn't fully priced in the company's share price, she said in the interview.
