智通财经APP获悉，据报道，随着汇控(00005)寻找下一任董事长的时间日益紧迫，集团正在加速推进候选人遴选工作。据知情人士透露，汇控主席杜嘉祺(Mark Tucker)此前宣布将于9月离职、转任友邦(01299)非执行主席的决定令部分董事会成员感到意外，他们原以为有更充裕的时间物色继任者。
知情人士表示，董事会本周已在香港召开会议讨论潜在继任人选，这一职位仍处于公开竞逐状态。负责该职位遴选工作的资深独立董事Ann Godbehere尚未确定最终候选人名单，但高盛集团的Richard Gnodde和Kevin Sneader等金融界知名人士均在考虑之列。
汇控对下任董事长人选的资质要求包括：必须具备深厚的亚洲市场经验，这正是行政总裁Georges Elhedery战略布局中的重点区域。除丰富的银行业履历外，鉴于汇控立志在未来数年成为美国以外全球最大的财富管理机构，董事会还希望候选人拥有财富管理领域背景。
