There will be no nuclear talks with Iran on Sunday, a senior U.S. administration official says, adding Washington still hopes Tehran will resume negotiations soon.
"We remain committed to talks and hope the Iranians will come to the table soon," the U.S. official said.
U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff was expected to meet Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in Oman on Sunday to discuss Iran's response to a recent American proposal for a nuclear deal.
But after Israel launched dozens of missiles and drones at Iranian nuclear and military facilities, Iran's foreign ministry said it was "meaningless" to continue the talks while Iran was being bombed.
