"I thought it was going to be like Soviet Union-esque. But it was cool to see a lot of patriotism. This is the calmest I've seen DC in a while. It's chill," said John Bullock, 28 years old, of Lusby, Md, a high school social studies teacher.

He thinks some people stayed away due to forecasts of poor weather and fears of possible unrest: "It's a pretty heated time in the country right now. I was worried this was going to be chaotic."
