Empire Energy Group (ASX:EEG) has changed its name to Beetaloo Energy Australia with the ticker BTL, effective open of trading on June 18, according to a Monday Australian bourse filing.
Under the Australian Securities Exchange's rules, the company will seek shareholder approval at the general meeting to be held in July to update the company's constitution for the name change.
The company's shares rose nearly 12% in recent Monday trade.
