BlockBeats 消息，6 月 17 日，据 TheBlock 报道，Coinbase 首席法务官 Paul Grewal 透露，正积极向 SEC 申请无异议函或豁免许可，拟推出基于区块链的传统股票交易服务。代币化股票将可实现 T+0 结算、24/7 交易及更低成本，但目前美国投资者仍被禁止参与。此举将直接挑战 Robinhood、嘉信理财等传统券商，而 Coinbase 的竞争对手 Kraken 已在欧亚非推出 xStocks 服务，包含 50 余种代币化股票和 ETF。
Coinbase 正在继上周推出美国运通联名信用卡及 Shopify/Stripe 的 USDC 支付合作后，继续拓展非加密资产版图。在 2021 年尝试 IPO 时，其曾试图发行代币化 COIN 股票但被 SEC 否决。Coinbase 在 2023 年因未注册被 SEC 起诉，该诉讼在今年初撤诉，但其当前仍未取得经纪交易商牌照。
若 Coinbase 此次申请获批将打通传统股权市场与加密市场的流动性壁垒，可能加速 SEC 对《证券代币分类指南》的制定进程。
