周五公布的官方数据显示，英国5月份零售销售创下了自2023年12月以来的最大环比跌幅，原因是消费者在食品、夏季服装和家居装修方面大肆消费后，需求有所下降。

　　英国国家统计局（ONS）表示，5月份零售销售环比下降了2.7%，降幅远超过经济学家0.5%的预测中值。

　　与去年同期相比，5月零售销售下降了1.3%，为2024年4月以来最大降幅。

　　今年4月份，由于每年这个时候异常晴朗的天气提振了需求，英国4月份零售销售强劲增长，而周五早些时候发布的GfK 6月份消费者信心数据显示，消费者信心达到今年以来的最高水平。

　　然而，来自零售商的报告则更为复杂。英国零售协会（BRC）本月早些时候表示，由于消费者在一个月前完成了大部分夏季购物，5月份的销售增长大幅放缓。

　　本月英国主要零售商的最新数据好坏参半。英国最大的食品零售商乐购（Tesco）第一季度的销售额超出了预期，尽管该公司称这是一个“竞争激烈”的市场。然而，处境艰难的折扣店Poundland表示，计划关闭68家门店。
