BUZZ-Australia's European Lithium soars after US-listed Critical Metals gets nod for $120 mln loan

** Shares of European Lithium EUR.AX rise 45.5% to A$0.064, hitting their highest levels since February 6

** Stock eyes strongest trading session since late March 2016, if gains hold

** Mineral explorer says Critical Metals Corp CRML.O , of which EUR is largest shareholder, received a non-binding and conditional letter of interest from the Export-Import Bank of the United States

** Letter indicated EXIM support for funding package of $120 million

** Says funding to be used to advance development of Critical Metals' Tanbreez project in Greenland

** European Lithium has a 67.36% stake in Critical Metals, as per LSEG data

** More than 26 million shares change hands, 30.5 times the 30-day average, in stock's busiest session since March 1, 2024

** Stock up 52.4% YTD, including the day's moves
