South Korean computerized numerical control (CNC) control system developer KCNC Corporation developed a localized CNC system, which will secure domestic supply chains for high-precision machinery, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy said in a Wednesday release.

South Korea, which previously relied on imports for 95% of CNC systems, now aims for 30% localization by 2032, potentially generating 200 billion won in economic gains, the report said.

KCNC's system has been backed by a government-led consortium since 2019. Key buyers have signaled their intention to purchase, with full commercialization slated for 2026, it said.
