Unico Silver (ASX:USL) said infill drilling at the La Negra prospect, part of the Joaquin silver project in Argentina, confirmed thick, shallow, high-grade silver mineralization, according to a Friday Australian bourse filing.
It received assay results from the first 13 drill holes, totaling 1,484 meters, as part of the infill drilling program. Drilling is focused on converting the 2013 foreign estimate to a mineral resource as part of the PLUS 150 strategy targeting pit-constrained, free-milling silver ounces.
Significant intercepts encountered during the drilling included four meters at 507 grams per tonne grade of silver equivalent, including 0.1 g/t grade of gold and 499 g/t grade of silver from 56 meters, as well as 28 meters at 522 g/t grade of silver-equivalent, including 0.2 g/t grade of gold and 507 g/t grade of silver from 33 meters.
The first phase drilling program of around 10,000 meters will conclude in June.
