1150 ET - Albertsons Cos. is shuttering more stores than usual this year. "There's probably going to be a slightly larger-than-normal amount of closures this year, but that's simply catching up from the hygiene that we weren't able to do the last couple of years," said CEO Susan Morris at WSJ's Global Food Forum in Chicago. While the grocery store chain is building around 11 to 15 stores a year, Morris said it wasn't able to do some of its normal store hygiene in the last two and a half years. "There comes a point in time it's just the right thing for the business," said Morris. (denny.jacob@wsj.com; @pennedbyden)
