力拓集团与汉考克勘探公司（Hancock Prospecting）宣布将共同投资16.1亿澳元（力拓持股部分8亿澳元）开发西澳大利亚皮尔巴拉地区的Hope Downs 2号铁矿项目。该项目已获得澳大利亚联邦及州政府全部审批许可。

　　开发区域是位于Hope Downs 2与Bedded Hilltop的矿床。

　　这两处是新型水上露天矿坑，设计年产能合计3100万公吨铁矿石，首矿预计2027年投产。建设期将创造950个岗位，运营期维持期间，将在大Hope Downs地区创造约1000个全职岗位。

　　作为力拓皮尔巴拉矿区130Mtpa替代项目群的重要组成部分，该项目将延续Hope Downs合资项目未来数十年的持续生产，支持力拓实现中期345-360Mtpa系统产能目标，并配套推进皮尔巴拉最优未开发矿床Rhodes Ridge的预可行性研究。

　　力拓已与Nyiyaparli、Banjima和Ngarlawangga原住民社群及政府机构合作，确保项目开发过程中的文化遗产与环境保护。

　　力拓铁矿石首席执行官西蒙·特罗特表示：“Hope Downs 2的获批是力拓投资皮尔巴拉新一代铁矿的重要里程碑。这些项目延续了我们六十余年来作为全球钢铁供应链核心的承诺，将持续为澳大利亚就业、地方经济及国家财政做出贡献。”

　　该项目的启动正值力拓2025-2027年130亿澳元新矿投资计划实施阶段，与公司近期宣布的产业升级战略形成协同。
