美国前中情局（CIA）局长莱昂・帕内塔表示，“毫无疑问”，如果美国袭击伊朗，将陷入一场地区战争。

　　帕内塔称，美国在二十年前发动伊拉克战争是 “严重错误”，这场战争持续了数年。帕内塔说：“这是总统需要吸取的教训，因为如果他下令袭击伊朗，毫无疑问，美国届时将卷入一场地区战争。”

　　帕内塔还警告称，伊朗必将进行报复。他表示：“别搞错了，可能只是一次空袭，但它肯定会让美国卷入与伊朗的战争。”
