Conduent Transportation has announced a new contract to install its innovative 3D Fare Gates at NJ TRANSIT stations in New Jersey. This development follows a significant agreement with the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) to implement 100 of these gates across nine stations in the Philadelphia area. The 3D Fare Gate Solution, designed to enhance passenger experience and combat fare evasion, employs a computer vision algorithm to differentiate between people and objects, improving both security and usability. This technology is expected to provide transit authorities with real-time reporting and analytics, allowing them to identify when and where fare evasion occurs. The Metropolitan Transportation Authority $(MTA)$ in New York has also named Conduent as a potential vendor for modernizing its subway fare systems, with testing set to begin this fall.
