Spain Will Need to Spend 3.5% of GDP on Defense Even if It Doesn't Want To, NATO's Chief Says -- Market Talk

1328 GMT - Spain will need to boost its defense spending to 3.5% of its gross domestic product to meet the capability targets it has committed to, NATO's secretary-general says. This is even though the Spanish government said it can do so spending just 2.1% of GDP, Mark Rutte tells a press conference in The Hague. Each NATO country will now regularly report on what they are doing to achieve those targets, he says. (cristina.gallardo@wsj.com)
