Golar LNG Limited has announced that its floating liquefied natural gas $(FLNG)$ unit, Gimi, has achieved the Commercial Operations Date $(COD.UK)$ for its 20-year Lease and Operate Agreement related to the Greater Tortue Ahmeyim (GTA) project, situated offshore Mauritania and Senegal. This milestone marks the commencement of a significant agreement expected to generate approximately $3 billion in Adjusted EBITDA for the company. The achievement signifies a pivotal advancement for one of Africa's deepest offshore developments, positioning Mauritania and Senegal as LNG exporters. Golar is also accelerating the development of its next FLNG units, following recent FLNG charters in Argentina, with plans underway for a new 3.5mtpa MKII unit and potential 5mtpa MKIII and 2.7mtpa MKI units.
