June 23 - (The Insurer) - Aggregated economic and insured losses from the severe convective storms $(SCS)$ that affected Europe from June 13 to 16 may reach the hundred of millions of euros, Aon said on Friday.
The SCS event particularly affected western France and northern Italy. It produced large hailstones up to 9 cm in diameter, strong wind gusts, as well as triggering floods and landslides.
SCS outbreaks in western France heavily affected the departments of Eure-et-Loir, Puy-de-Dôme and Orne. Aon said there were almost 900 interventions for collapsed roofs, flooded cellars and fallen trees across the affected regions.
Activity in northern and central Italy caused local fire brigades to conduct over 850 rescue operations, specifically the Veneto and Emilia-Romagna regions, Aon said.
