Airbus Defense Business Could Help Fill Europe's Growing Capability Gap -- Market Talk

0906 GMT - Airbus Defence and Space $(ADS.AU)$ is well-positioned to fill a new capability gap in Europe for transport, tanker aircraft and helicopters, Deutsche Bank's analyst Christophe Menard says. This capability gap is widening as the U.S. shifts its focus to the Indo-Pacific, he notes. ADS's growth and profitability are expected to be noticeable after 2028, precisely when Airbus Commercial might reach a plateau, Menard says. Plus, Airbus remains affordable compared to both commercial and defense peers, he adds. Deutsche Bank increases its price target on Airbus stock to 185 euros from 183 euros on slightly improved margins at the Helicopter and Defence and Space units. Shares are up 2.2% at 170.60 euros.
