Emerald Resources (ASX:EMR) said that production at the Okvau gold project in Cambodia fell below guidance for the June quarter, primarily due to "ongoing accelerated earthworks and waste movements associated with cutback activities which limited access to ore zones" experienced earlier during the period, according to a Tuesday Australian bourse filing.

The June quarter's gold production is anticipated to be around 21,000 ounces. All-in sustaining costs for the period are expected to be around $1,200 per ounce. Production for the month of June was over 10,000 ounces.

Production for the remainder of the calendar year is expected to track toward the upper end of the quarterly guidance range of 25,000 ounces to 30,000 ounces. The firm is on track to achieve its fiscal year guidance.

The firm's shares fell 2% in recent trading on Tuesday.
