Genasys Inc. has announced a $2.0 million order from the U.S. Navy for their LRAD maritime communication systems. This order is part of the Navy's initiative to replace first-generation LRADs with the advanced LRAD 1000Xi systems, which are designed to enhance communication and ship protection. The systems will be deployed on various Navy vessels, including surface combatants, large amphibious ships, and aircraft carriers. The LRAD 1000Xi is noted for its ability to deliver clear communication over distances up to 3,000 meters, improving operational effectiveness and safety in maritime environments. Delivery is expected within the current fiscal year.
