ISTANBUL, June 25 (Reuters) - Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan said after the NATO summit on Wednesday that he had discussed the issue of Turkey purchasing F-35 fighter jets with President Donald Trump and that the U.S. leader has "good intentions" on the issue.
The United States imposed sanctions on NATO ally Ankara in 2020 over Turkey's purchase of Russian S-400 missile defence systems, and removed Turkey from the F-35 programme where it was a manufacturer and buyer.
Erdogan told reporters in The Hague that he and Trump had not discussed the S-400s, as that was a "done deal".
