0937 ET - FedEx didn't provide full-year guidance but the implied forecast based on estimates for 1Q suggest EPS below buy-side estimates that are at risk from further trade deterioration between the US and EU, according to JPMorgan in a research note. The analysts say that other unanswered questions from the latest results include the potential impact of a new contract with Amazon. "The return to price discipline between FedEx and UPS has been long overdue, but we are increasingly concerned that higher yields and more surcharges are not enough to offset negative mix from B2C during the current B2B malaise," say the analysts. FedEx slides 5% in early trading. (denny.jacob@wsj.com; @pennedbyden)
