Cleanaway Waste Management (ASX:CWY) entered into a variation agreement with a subsidiary of Boral, amending its existing operating agreement for the Melbourne Regional Landfill, according to a Wednesday Australian bourse filing.

The firms agreed to change the planned sequence of future landfilling operations by bringing forward access to an area currently occupied by Boral.

A new area adjacent to existing landfill operations, currently owned by Boral, can be added to the site and governed by the existing agreement, for a one-off fee of AU$15 million, the filing said. Boral ceased legal action against the operating agreement.

Cleanaway also relinquished its contractual rights to landfill the unquarried area located to the north of the landfill's current operations.
