BlockBeats 消息，6 月 27 日，Ledger 首席技术官 Charles Guillemet 在 X 平台表示，Nano S 目前 320kb 内存难以支持新应用、功能提交及更新。仅 LedgerOS、比特币、以太坊和交易所应用就几乎占满内存，导致无法支持多应用并行、清晰签名改进、交易检查与 Ledger Sync™、兑换（如与 THORChain 等交互）、设备语言包等新功能及安全增强特性。在复杂加密环境中，这些功能对提升清晰度、可用性和安全性至关重要，需更强硬件支持。
Guillemet 强调，现有 Nano S 用户若设备正常且助记词已备份，其资产将保持安全且可访问，BTC/ETH 等主流币种的基础操作（收发/交易）不受影响。但升级至新设备可获取更全面的应用支持、未来新功能及最优安全性体验。
此前昨日消息，Ledger 即将淘汰 Nano S 引发用户不满，被质疑强迫用户购买新设备。
