美国纽约南区检察官办公室宣布对 Kai West 的起诉。据称，West 在暗网黑市上以 IntelBroker 为化名从事非法活动，导致受害方损失超过 2500 万美元。
West 曾与名为 CyberNers* 的网络团伙合谋，从多家公司窃取数据，其中包括一家电信公司、一家市属医疗服务提供商、一家互联网服务商，以及其他 40 多家企业。
根据起诉书，一名卧底执法人员曾向“IntelBroker”发送私信，欲以价值 250 美元的比特币（BTC）购买一名受害者的数据。对方提供了一个归属于 West 的地址，在付款完成后，对方交付了数据，其中据称包括三个管理员级别的用户名和密码。West 及其线上合伙人曾将这些非法获取的数据以超过 200 万美元的价格挂牌出售。他随后于 今年 2 月在法国被捕，美国目前正寻求将其引渡。
