YouTube, a subsidiary of Alphabet Inc., has announced the testing of AI-based summaries featuring multiple sources in a slider format. This new feature aims to enhance user search experiences by providing AI-generated "highlights" as the first result for specific queries, followed by detailed content. Initially available to paying premium users in the United States, the feature will be limited to search inquiries related to shopping, localities, and leisure activities. Additional clips will be displayed as thumbnails in a carousel format, offering summaries when clicked. While the development promises a more streamlined search process, there are concerns it may lead to a decline in traffic.
