IT之家 6 月 27 日消息，苹果公司为庆祝 iTunes 支持播客 20 周年，推出了一个新网页，上面列出了 20 个该公司最喜爱的播客频道，并写道：“在 Apple Podcasts，我们热爱播客”。

IT之家注：苹果按照每隔 5 年划分，分为 2005-2010、2011-2015、2016-2020 以及 2021-2025 年份。

苹果表示 iTunes 在 2005 年接入播客后，投入了无数精力和资源，帮助用户发现新节目。苹果精选了《This American Life》、《Acquired》、《The Daily》等 20 个最受用户欢迎频道，认为其展示了播客媒体的发展历程以及未来 20 年的发展潜力。

苹果公司在 2005 年 6 月 28 日发布的 iTunes 4.9 中首次支持播客，让用户可以轻松发现、收听和订阅播客。

史蒂夫・乔布斯在当时一份新闻稿中表示：“苹果公司将播客带入了主流，将其直接整合进 iTunes。播客是新一代的广播，用户现在可以订阅超过 3000 个免费播客，并自动通过互联网将每个新节目传送到他们的电脑和 iPod。”
