Ad Groups' Results to Defy Investors' Concerns -- Market Talk

1049 GMT - Advertising stocks have underperformed the market so far this year as investors' concerns mount, but those worries won't show up in agencies' coming results, analysts at Bank of America say in a research note. Concerns about economic volatility, the structural impact of AI and the healthcare sector in the U.S. have all contributed to a poor stock performance for ad groups, according to BofA. Comments from industry executives at a BofA conference and the Cannes Lions festival suggest those risks won't be visible when companies report in coming weeks, the analysts say. Publicis looks well placed to hit the top end of its guidance, WPP faces a tricky set of results, and Omnicom should deliver a steady performance before completing its acquisition of peer Interpublic Group, BofA says.
