BlockBeats 消息，6 月 27 日，据 Coinfomania 报道，不丹比特币储备估值已达 13 亿美元，约占该国 GDP 的 40%。SatoshiActFund 首席执行官 Dennis Porter 将此称为"加密里程碑"。
不丹于 2020 年在国王 Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck 的倡议下开始挖矿，利用其丰富的水电资源。五年后，不丹已成为全球第三大比特币政府持有国。
Druk Holding and Investments 负责人 Ujjwal Deep Dahal 表示，比特币挖矿对不丹而言是"相当明显的选择"。该国目前至少运营六座矿场，部分与新加坡挖矿公司 Bitdeer Technologies 合作。
不丹计划长期持有其比特币储备，并已开始探索加密货币在日常生活中的应用。今年 5 月，不丹推出了一个支持 100 多种加密货币的旅游支付系统，允许游客使用加密货币支付机票、酒店和签证费用。
