智通财经APP获悉，美国电动汽车制造商Rivian Automotive(RIVN.US)已经裁员140人，约占员工总数的1%，以提高其制造部门的效率，为明年推出更实惠的R2 SUV做准备。
Rivian向媒体证实了裁员的消息，并建议受影响的员工申请公司内部的其他职位。
Rivian表示：“为了持续提高R2运营效率，我们做出了一个艰难的决定，减少少量受薪制造员工，”并取消了造成“流程效率低下”的职位。
R2 SUV 预计将于2026年上半年投产，与现有车型相比，其平台旨在实现“显著的成本效益”。该车的上市价格约为 4.5 万美元，旨在与特斯拉(TSLA.US) Model Y和福特(F.US) Mustang Mach E竞争。
