Singapore Shares Rise for Third Straight Day; AEM Surges 15%

Singapore shares finished higher for a third straight session on Thursday as sentiment remained upbeat after the city-state's manufacturing production increased 3.9% year-on-year in May, backed by increased output from the transport engineering and precision engineering

The Straits Times Index ranged between 3,919.48 and 3,939.87 throughout the day. It ended the session at 3,938.46, up 12.48 points or 0.32% compared to Wednesday's close.

In corporate news, shares of AEM (SGX:AWX) surged nearly 15% as the company upgraded its guidance for the first half of the year to a range of SG$185 million to SG$195 million from the previous range of SG$155 million and SG$170 million.

Nera Telecommunications (SGX:N01) closed 7% higher after the firm renewed a framework contract worth around SG$30 million.

Meanwhile, BH Global (SGX:BQN) gained over 6% after the company said it will undergo internal restructuring as part of plans to spin off and list its subsidiary, Sea Forrest International.
