Four Automakers in South Korea to Recall 14,708 Vehicles Over Faulty Parts

Hyundai Motor (KRX:005380), Jaguar Landrover Korea, GS Global (KRX:001250), and GM Asia-Pacific Regional Headquarters will recall 14,708 units across 19 different models on account of defective parts, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport said in a Wednesday release.

Key issues include a defective airbag inflator in Hyundai's Avante, a fire risk linked to the battery system in BYD's BYD (SHE:002594, HKG:1211) eBus-12 imported by GS Global, and infotainment software glitches in GM's Lyriq EV, the release said.

Shares of Hyundai Motor jumped more than 4% in recent trade.
